Oxford University Press’s approach to evaluating the impact of our educational products and services
To make a positive impact on teaching and learning requires a combination of great teachers, supportive parents/carers and engaging resources. However, choosing the most impactful resources can be difficult, and with increasing demands on time and budget, it has become ever-more important to invest in the right ones.
As a department of the University of Oxford, improving educational outcomes is core to our mission. As you would expect, everything we develop at OUP is created with rigour and care to ensure that it will help to engage learners.
As part of this commitment, we developed Oxford Impact, OUP’s approach to evaluating the impact that our educational products and services have on teaching and learning.
"With unprecedented changes in Education and the world around us, we have seen an accelerated demand for evidence of what works and makes a real difference to teaching and learning. Oxford Impact has enabled us to work with thousands of educators across the globe to evaluate how Oxford products and services support teachers and have a positive impact on learning."
Managing Director, Education
"With Oxford Impact our aim was to develop a rigorous, research-centred approach enabling us to carry out impact studies in a structured and credible way. This in turn would provide the evidence to support the positive impact that our products and services have on teaching and learning."

Making the right choice
Carrying out impact studies provides us with the opportunity to build deeper relationships with educators as we gain greater insights into how OUP’s educational products and services are used to achieve the best teaching and learning outcomes.
By sharing that evidence with you, we can:
- make it easier for you to select the educational resources that have the greatest impact
- give you confidence that OUP’s products and services meet the high quality standards that you expect.
By carefully evaluating the impact of our educational products and services, we are able to provide you with the evidence you need to make the right choice.
